Funded with the challenge of creating projects with daring narrative and esthetic standards, AbacaFilms specializes in the production of short and feature fiction and documentary films. Several of its creators' projects have been recognized worldwide; such is the case of CAMIÓN DE CARGA, film invited to more than twenty international film festivals or RUTA DE LA LUNA, supported by Ibermedia, Fundación Carolina, BAL, Cinergia and Fundación TyPA. AbacaFilms was born out of the necessity of a space where filmmakers with related interests have the possibility of creating quality projects that contribute to the consolidation of the local and Latin American film industry. |

Irina Caballero, producer Panamanian. Received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business focusing in Finance and International Business. Due to her affinity to the arts she decided to apply her knowledge to the conception, planning, and development of the cinema. Her ability to form and manage working teams has made possible the realization of projects like MY SOCCER JERSEY and the award winning short film CAMION DE CARGA. Her mission is to assist the independent artist, achieving high-quality productions that arouse the human conscience through creativity and emotions. Currently, she produces two feature films in Ecuador and Panama and a graphic novel. |

Juan Sebastián Jácome , writer / director Holds a Film Production BFA degree from the Florida State University Film School and complemented his directing studies with Judith Weston in Los Angeles. In 2008, he was one of sixteen Latin American filmmakers selected to receive a complete fellowship for the 6th Screenwriting Lab organized by Fundación Carolina and Casa de América in Madrid. His short films and feature screenplays have received numerous awards from different festivals worldwide, including Zoe Trope Screenplay Contest, judged by Francis Ford Coppola. He teaches at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. He executive produced the Singaporean feature film CARROT CAKE CONVERSATIONS. Different international production companies develop three of his feature screenplays: AbacaFilms in Ecuador & Panama, Jaguar Films in Panamá, and Astrakan Films in the USA. |

Diego Araujo, writer / director Ecuadorian. Holds an MFA in Film Production from Florida State University Film School and a Masters in Screenwriting from the University of Bergen, Norway. He has previously directed fiction short films, documentaries & spots for UNICEF, and a documentary series for Ecuadorian television. His shorts have been shown in festivals in the United States, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, and Ecuador. HOLIDAY is his first feature film. Diego is attached as the editor of the feature film RUTA DE LA LUNA. He has extensive editing experience with clients including HBO, MTV, NBC and PBS. |

Luis Felipe Donoso , production design One of the leading graffiti and comic artists in Ecuador, Donoso studied arts and painting throughout his childhood and adolescense. In addition, he attended the Multimedia Animation School at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, studied Comic Design at the Universidad de Palermo (Argentina), and Fine Arts at the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino. Since 2006 his work has toured the most important cities of the country in various exhibitions, including the "Grabado Urbano" exposition organized by the Ecuadorian Central Bank. In 2008, Donoso was invited to portrait, though graffiti arts, the spirit of Eugenio Espejo in the restoration of the Antiguo Hospital Militar and exposition denominated "The Quito Revolution". Currently he develops Comic, Design, Art, and Film projects. |
